It also plays an important role in maintaining proper pH in natural sea water (NSW). Alkalinity or carbonate hardness is found at 7.5 or 2.67 meq/L at 77F / 25C at a salinity of 35 parts per thousand (ppt) or a specific gravity of 1.026 in NSW. Buffer + dKH GeneratorTM will automatically adjust marine aquarium water to the proper pH of 8.4 and increase alkalinity or carbonate hardness. Buffer + dKH GeneratorTM is a unique blend of highly concentrated multiple forms of pH balanced, bio-availableTM, bio-activeTM, high purity compounds. Multiple forms of ingredients are employed as they found in NSW. Buffer + dKH GeneratorTM assists: Ca++, Mg++, K+, SO4-and other ions with the coloration and growth of corals, sponges, sea anemones, marine fish and captive marine organisms. ACPTM Buffer + dKH Generator® is the perfect one step pH adjuster and alkalinity builder. Maintain pH at 8.4 with alkalinity or KH (carbonate hardness) about 7.5-8 / 2.67-2.85 meq/L for sea water duplication. Ideal for marine fish and various sea plants and algae. Maintain pH at 8.4 with an alkalinity or KH (carbonate hardness) about 8.4-9.5 or 3.-3.4 meq/L for reef aquariums. Avoid adjusting alkalinity over KH over 10 / 3.6 meq/L. Prior to adding Buffer + dKH GeneratorTM, test for calcium and magnesium. Adjust with ACPTM #1 # # 3 if necessary. Calcium must be between 400-460 ppm. Magnesium must be between 1290-1350 ppm. Use one cap (6 ml) for each 25 US gallons of marine aquarium water. Add enough to bring pH to 8.3-8.4. Add more to adjust alkalinity or carbonate hardness to the recommend level.
